Negative taken for August 20, 1963, Arkansas Gazette article "They Fly Through the Air With the Greatest ..." located B1:2. Army "mules" load cargo onto a high-tailed cargo plane also referred to as a 'provider.' A mule is an 800-pund vehicle with an engine mounted over the rear wheels. It can carry up to half a ton. This was an exercise, called Swift Strike III, of equipment and the men's ability to perform their duties as they pack their supplies from a simulated guerilla war in and near Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina.
